Songs From Twin Reckoning
Poor little Becca, stuck in the stairs
Sad little Becca, nobody cares
Climb all you want, you just wait and see
You'll never ever ever catch up with me
Though we thank you at this moment
Here's a lesson we have learned
In some small way
there will come a day
When the tables have been turned
One good turn deserves another
Returned favors are the best
As each good deed
provides a seed
An action made from zest
Take what you will from our simple song
For simple folk are we
Minds are exposed
When eyes stay closed
And what will be must be
Look up, then down, and all around
We float and fly like thistledown
Upon this now let us expound
True danger lurks on fractured ground
So listen now while we explain,
How lurkers come to stake their claim
They do not care, it's all the same
Step on a crack and you're fair game
They will attack without a sound
And once you're gone you won't be found
To lose you would be such a shame.
No one but you to take the blame
Across the divide and across the B'tween
Far from the place you call home
Is a magical world like you've never seen
Where laughter and mirth once did roam
Until there came that fateful day
When everything good went amiss
And magical forces were let out to play
Creating the current abyss
All that glitters is not gold
And appearances are deceiving
Now we do as we are told
And most of us are grieving
As for the problem it's really quite sad
How something so good became evil
And now we are caught in a nightmare so bad
Fraught in anger, turmoil and upheaval
Heed my warning Miss Becca, and hear what I say
I wish that I had better news
To leave and go home, there is only one way
And it isn't for me to choose
All I can say is to be on your guard
For your friends may turn into your foes
A person once scorned is a person once scarred
And the source of continuous woes
Beware of the man they call Toddathon Tout
Say his name in a whisper and never a shout
If your eyes are clear and your heart is full
Perhaps you'll find your miracle
